WHI PI wins Distinguished Scholar Award

WHI investigators wish to congratulate Dr. Rebecca Jackson on receiving The Ohio State University's Distinguished Scholar Award. This award, established in 1978, recognizes exceptional scholarly accomplishments by senior professors who have compiled a substantial body of research. Recipients are nominated by their departments and chosen by a committee of senior faculty, including several past recipients of the award. This award was presented to Dr. Jackson by Dr. Drake, the OSU President on February 19. Dr. Jackson is indeed a scholar as well as a practicing physician, leader, wife, mother and diehard Buckeyes fan. She has been a Principal Investigator in the WHI since 1994 and has served in a wide range of leadership roles for the program. As Chair of the WHI Scientific Resources Working Group she has guided WHI into new scientific areas particularly those using cutting edge molecular technologies and she has fostered numerous collaborations that have benefitted the program. We join with the Ohio State University in acknowledging her remarkable career.
