When the Women's Health Initiative asked for a quilt square for the conference, my mind was going about 1000 miles a minute. Cancer was the first thing that came to me because of my sister Ingrid, who died at fifty years of age after fighting cancer for over 6 1/2 years. I have seen pictures of cancer tumors and nodules. I have attended City & Guid of London's Design & Embroidery contemporary and Color Techniques plus a Masterclass. I am dyeing most of my fabrics I work on and adding texture and dimensions to most of my projects.
My background started in Sweden. My mother had four sets of twins, my twin sister, Marianne, died at age five and a half. The second and third set were a girl and a boy and the last set, two boys. In our family background are twins every third generation on both sides. My mother's side were traced to 1684 and on my father's side, 1709.
