I'm Happy.
My journey with WHI began with the simple idea of participating in the project. I had neither preconceived notions nor grandiose plans to change how the world views the issues surrounding women's health.
As a result of participating in the study, I became more aware of my own health care. I also became more aware and vocal when I approached physicians for service. I spoke up when I wasn't sure of what they were telling me. I spoke up when the symptoms that I had expressed were dismissed. I spoke up when I had the feeling things were not quite right. I began to request second opinions when I felt it necessary. I also began to respectfully demand more information from my physicians. When it was not forthcoming, I spoke up.
As a result of participating in WHI, I now feel more comfortable discussing my health care needs with my physicians. I'm happy I joined WHI!
