The square I made honors Dr. Bernadine Healy who during her tenure at the National Institutes of Health authorized the first comprehensive, longitudinal research project related to the health of women; Women's Health Initiative.
I have had breast cancer. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother had strokes in their medical history. My hope is that this research will lead to better health and improved medical treatment for all women. Of those women family members especially dear to me: Anne, Elizabeth, Lori, Jan their daughters, Suzanne, Pauline, Allison and Caroline and their daughters to come.
