I joined WHI in September 1996 after reading about the program in a daily newspaper. I was interested in the "fat" study since my father had died from a high cholesterol problem. I was grateful to be one of the lucky persons selected since I had been diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.
WHI saved my life by educating me in a life style change. A healthier way of cooking and planning low-fat meals, how to read food labels, counting fat, grains and fruit and vegetable grams, and a way of eating out in restaurants. Thank you WHI.
