I am extremely proud and honored to have been a part of the first large and very comprehensive study ever to investigate the crucial health issues that are unique to women. I always looked forward to each participatory visit to the Women's Health Initiative Study because I knew each of my visits would bring this historic research closer to its fruition. I also knew that as a result of my actions as participant and the actions of other women like me, a profound impact would be made on the health of our daughters and granddaughters and future generations in a very positive way.
My quilt square is dedicated to my daughters: Gwendolyn, Jacqueline, Jocelyn, and Rosalyn; and to my grandchildren. My grandchildren are the petals that make up the flower in the quilt square: Sydney Yoko, Hope Alexandria, Zoe Mariah, Jackson Emmanuel and Juliana Christina and they are the flowers in my life!
