My name is Elizabeth. I have been a WHI participant for seven years. My daughter, Kelly, is an employee of Northwestern Hospital and she was the one who alerted me to the project. It seemed to be a way to make a contribution with very little effort on my part.
I am retired from teaching in the Oak Park Public schools. After retirement I moved into the city and am enjoying exploring all that Chicago has to offer. It is important to me to keep my life busy and productive. I'm a Master Gardener Intern with the University of Illinois Extension Program and I'm active with my church, Third Unitarian.
In an effort to stay healthy I do yoga and distance walking. I will be participating in the Avon 3-Day Breast Cancer walk this June for the second year.
My family and my home are very important to me. Two of my grandchildren spend one or two days a week with me while their dad is at his firehouse. Two years ago we did a rehab on my apartment and now I work on the garden. Life is good!
