First, I became a committed member of WHI when I learned that the goal of the study is to bring about the betterment of women via research the focuses on particular health issues. Furthermore, my philosophy embraces the notion of an "on-going improvement process" in obtaining a feeling of "good-health" and a sense of "well-being." Likewise, this project aims at improving the quality of life. Thus, I support it.
Secondly, the colors I have chosen for the quilt are as follows: yellow (the intellect), white, (the scientist), and green ("my birthstone" with leaves to indicate new growth). All three colors may be thought of in relation to the study only from a scientific perspective using creative arts.
Thirdly, I am an African-American educator and mother of two daughters. I am, indeed, honored to participate in the production of a noteworthy contribution that aims towards medical advancement for women.
In any event, it is my hope that this study will result in a level of inclusion and a sense of satisfaction in the fulfillment of women's health needs, not only from an American standpoint but from a global perspective as well.
