I chose blue for my background because it reflects the sky (Blue Heaven). It is heaven that I believe all the women have gone much to early, because the doctors were not privy to this historic research program (WHI). The fabric for the design is partially pink, for girls and floral, as I am an avid gardener. The design of a cross is to signify our salvation from the strict male dominated medical community who failed to investigate crucial health issues unique to women. As a Christian the cross also reminds me of the Man, who gave us salvation. He stood for the marginalized, the people on the fringes (women's medical research).
I feel very blessed for being included in the mailing some ten years back. I stay a committed member of this study because I believe we are all responsible to make this world a better place, for all peoples. I thank God for my small part in this endeavor that will help women make informed choices way into the future.
