The main reason I joined WHI was because I was so conflicted and confused about taking HRT when I reached menopause. I went from doctor to doctor and read articles about HRT for several years and got no satisfaction as to why to take it or why not to take it. I tried it for about 6 months; my migraine headaches came back with a vengeance, so I stopped. I feel better not taking anything. I don't think menopause is a disease, I didn't have any severe symptoms that some women have so I decided to age the "natural way" without drugs! In addition to my own feelings, I think about my daughter-in-laws, Donna and Eva and my granddaughter, Emma and hope by being a part of WHI I can make a difference for them when their time comes.

As far as the quilting project is concerned, I am an avid gardener and also love to embroider, so I combined the two for my quilt patch. I am looking forward to seeing everyone else's ideas for their patches in the quilt. What a wonderful idea to create a quilt for the WHI! It reminds me of the friendship quilts I have read about of long ago.
